But were you aware that brushing incorrectly can damage your smile? Today we give you a brief guide on how to brush your teeth properly to help you have a beautiful smile.

The American Dental Association, or ADA, has recommended that you brush your teeth at least two times daily. You should also make sure that your toothbrush is the right kind for your particular needs. If you want to clean the hard-to-reach places in your mouth, a brush with a small head can be the best option. If plaque is your biggest concern at the moment, a brush that has soft bristles could do the job.

You shouldn’t race through cleaning your teeth. Our dentist recommends that you spend at least two minutes brushing. Many people don’t, and their oral health can suffer as a direct result. To help you reach this goal, you can get a toothbrush with an automatic timer.

You should tilt your toothbrush at a 45 degree angle to brush. Short, precise strokes with the brush to clean all the surfaces of your upper and lower teeth can help ensure that you do not accidentally cause damage to your mouth. Your brush should move in a gentle back and forth motion, and don’t forget to clean your tongue! Brushing your tongue can help your oral health and it can help to keep your breath smelling fresh.
